James Wilson Science Tutoring: Terms and Conditions

Prior to the first lesson with any student, I require a 15 - 30 minutes online (Zoom or MS Meetings) discussion with student and at least 1 parent or carer to assess student's expectations, their needs, and to verbally agree a plan lesson(s). This plan will be written up by James Wilson and needs to be signed by a parent or carer.

Online or face to face class details: 

·       A Level classes last up to 1 hour 30 minutes including a 10-minute (or 2 x 5 minute) break(s)

Single lesson cost = £60.00

Block of 4 lessons = £192, (this is a 20% discount from the single lesson cost.)

·       GCSE Level classes last up to 1 hr 15 minutes including a 10-minute (or 2 x 5 minute) break(s)

Single lesson cost = £50.00

Block of 4 lessons = £160.00, (this is a 20% discount from the single lesson cost.

·       KS3 Level classes last up to 1 hr minutes including a 10-minute (or 2 x 5 minute) break(s)

Single lesson cost = £40.00

Block of 4 lessons = £128.00, (this is a 20% discount from the single lesson cost.

In addition to the main classes, students are set written homework that should take no more than 30-60 minutes and needs to be completed scanned and emailed to me within 3 days. There is then a 20 - 25 minute telephone or online follow up lesson 1 day later to give student(s) feedback.

·        Any pre-lesson materials to be printed and brought by me for face to face lessons or printed by the student before lesson time.

·        I will call to update a parent / carer to update on the student’s progress after every lesson (for one off lessons), or after every 2nd lesson for lesson blocks of 4.

·        When possible, with students and parental agreement, I will arrange safe experiments the student can run during a lesson to help cement understanding and remembering knowledge.

Payment made by bank transfer needs to be made no less than 2 days prior to lesson.

24-hour notice is required to cancel or postpone a lesson to avoid charge. Classes cancelled within 24 hours will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
