Teaching and Tutoring
2010 - 2014: On and off, worked as a part-time volunteer TA at various primary and secondary schools.
2015 to 2020 taught all sciences at KS3, GCSEand A level at 4 secondary schools
Ran after school science and maths revision and exa m practice sessions for GCSE and A level students up to 3 times per week.
In person and online tutor since 2017
I aim to limit tutees to 12 at any one time
Prior to Teaching:
8 Years in clinical and pharmaceutical laboratory research
Specialist areas include developing synthesis of novel metal chelates (ionic organic compounds), developing biochemical, cell biology and molecular biology assays. My research areas were focused on using the immune system to target anticancer drugs; then isolating Islets of Langerhans (groups of cells responsible for insulin production) for transplantation to treat type 1 diabetes, and identifying possible genes involved in type 1 diabetes.
21 Years in commercial product development and sales of molecular biology, bioinformatics and cheminformatics tools (laboratory consumables, equipment, and software) for pharmaceutical, academic and clinical research organisations.
